Come and enjoy some BBQ from a guy with years of experience! Had the two meat platter, hot links and brisket with BBQ beans and corn casserole. So good. Ordered the Pterodactyl Wings buffalo style to go and I can't wait till tonight to try em! The smell is driving me crazy. 10/16/24 Once again, this place has exceeded expectations!
People are always really nice and the place is very clean. Has a nice bar feel but is not dirty or overcrowded. Food is reasonably price and of good quality. We enjoy the Sunday Buffet for lunch.
Awesome BBQ! I had the manhandled sandwich & it was the bomb! 1/3 rack of ribs and they were delicious. Hand cut fries were outstanding. Topped it off with peach cobbler! Loved the outdoor seating. The service was excellent! I will return.
Wow! Wish I would've known of this place sooner. When you drive up it may look like it's just a bar inside. Don't drive by! Stop in! My 20 year old daughter was afraid we needed IDs to get in, but once we got inside she realized it was a full blown restaurant (that also serves alcohol). My daughter and I ordered the loaded baked potatoes and my son ordered the horseshoe burger! Wow!! Those French fries were so good! The potatoes were really loaded!!! I had a side of broccoli and look at the photos--when it's bright green you know it's perfectly cooked! Great food and our waitress Lexi was SO sweet, SO efficient!!!! We will be back when in Hays next time!!! Thanks for a great meal! I'm confused by some of the bad reviews but it appears there are some people trying to tarnish the reputation of this place.
The meat is really great, only some minor problems. It was the best Okra, we ever tasted.
I went today with my daughter and it was amazing. The pulled pork sandwich was very delightful and my daughter loved the pterodactyl wings. It was a bit pricy but worth it. Definitely will come back again!
The smoked bloody mary was incredible. From the handmade mix to the smoked thick cut bacon, what a well crafted drink! The food reminds you of home. Fresh and locally sourced, it's the kind of cooking that tastes like generations of perfecting the recipe. The outdoor patio is a hidden gem in Hays.
Everything was amazing! The service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious and served quickly. Price was great for portions and flavor. Was very easy to eat gluten-free. They could even make gluten free mac&cheese. Brisket, cheesy potatoes, and baked beans were top notch.
